Powell Management Associates (PMA) is a professional services firm providing management services for control of time, cost, and quality in capital construction programs. Our management services are performed on behalf of our clients, typically as agent and representative of the owner. We are neither designer nor constructor, but professional Construction Managers and Construction Program Managers functioning as an extension of our clients' staff solely to protect their interests while furthering the project goals for successful delivery, on schedule, in budget, and as planned.
PMA's management began formulating and defining the management process, procedures and techniques for a fledgling construction management division of an Atlanta architectural/ engineering firm in early 1972. In 1988, Marvin L. Powell, then the president of that division, which had grown to a construction management division of a national professional service firm, acquired a major interest in a ten-year-old regional construction management firm. With the presence of new leadership came refinements and enhancements to the existing techniques, practices and professional services delivery method, as well as an infusion of professional staff from other national management firms that brought a superior blend of expertise and management techniques to the firm. In 1990, Powell Management Associates was formed as the result of an organizational restructuring. Powell Management Associates has continually developed its construction program management system and has become known for providing one of the most complete and comprehensive management systems in the nation.
